VESSELS
My functional pottery is a tangible expression of my values as an artist: accessibility, connection, and the importance of art in everyday life. While my printmaking and painting often explore bold imagery and deeply personal experiences and themes, my vessels transmute my values into objects people can hold and use. They’re an invitation to think about all of the objects in our daily life, the hands and the earth that shaped them, and how their use becomes essential to our daily rituals. This intentionality keeps me grounded in the idea that art doesn’t need to be distant or explicitly “deep” to espouse certain values; it can live in our hands, shaping small moments of utility and care and serving as a reminder that we can and must provide for ourselves and our communities.
